I am Caroline.
I grew up in Zambia for 14 years. In 2002 moved to Germnay with my parents and siblings.
Baking has been something I have grown up doing since being a child in Zambia. My biggest inspiration is my dad who I always watched when baking and played the role of the guinea pig tasting all his baking and cooking experiments.
Apart from baking I love to cook in general, listen to good music, dance, go cycling, read through blogs
like trulytwaambo, enjoy playing card games (Romme, Black Jack, Poker), even board games (scrabble, monopoly, ludo) and I also enjoy reading books, my favorite so far is Things Fall Apart by Chinua
Life comes with so many challenges which makes me appreciate spending time with family, friends and my best friend so very much.
I am an Electronic Technician. I figured a while back that I enjoy working with my hands. In Zambia,
from scratch my siblings and I helped my parents build our house. My dad at the time was a farmer which at some point I also grew interest in. He is also Author of the book Buffalo
Spirit. My dad is the most creative person I know who can probably do anything, but in his own way which makes anything he does unique.
I feel that we can accomplish anything we put our minds to and are passionate about. It's just a matter of prioritizing and doing it. Making the first steps.
Thank you for taking your time to read through my blog. I hope you enjoy and find something interesting that might inspire or touch you in one way or the other.
I do have a passion for baking and cooking or shall I say, preparing a meal, but I also have many other interests, with that being said, this will not be your typical "cake" blog.
My blog posts include cooking topics, love for the motherland (Zambia and Africa in general), life in Germany, working in a male dominated environment and many more interesting subjects you might just want to read through.
This is sort of a new experience for me, publishing my thoughts. I have been writing for a long time, yet never felt the need to share it with anyone. It's a great way of expressing myself and self-reflecting. Writing has always kept me grounded; further more baking has also added refreshment to my life. The joy it brings, especially when a cake looks good, but in the end tastes even better. There is almost no better feeling.
